Academic & Business Research Consultant with a focus on Diversity & Inclusion
I help organisations in the music & creative industries to thrive through strategic research, consultancy and EDI expertise. With over 25 years’ experience, I combine leadership, lived experience and academic research to deliver practical solutions that help build stronger, fairer creative businesses.
I am the Past President of the Independent Society of Musicians, former CEO of the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors (the Ivors Academy), and an MBA graduate from Henley Business School. I am in the final stages of a PhD at Queen Mary University of London, focusing on women’s careers in the music industry, thus have particular expertise in EDI, music careers and organisations.

Research & Evaluation: Strategic business reviews, impact assessments, data collection, document reviews and analysis.
EDI Consultancy: Policy development, action plans, research reports, governance systems, and The Music Culture Creator framework.
Workshops & Training: Bespoke diversity and inclusion workshops for 10–100 participants.
Ongoing Consultancy: Regular partnerships with clients including Counterculture and IMPALA.
Sector Leadership
I am the Founder of The F-List for Music CIC, a not-for-profit supporting women and gender diverse musicians across the UK, and I advise multiple music industry boards and collectives. I also serve as a judge for the BRIT Awards, Music Week Awards, Women in Music Awards and the Making Music Diversity Award as well as advising the Leeds International Piano Competition.
My contributions have been recognised with a Fellowship of the Royal Society of Arts, membership of the British Academy of Management, and appointment as a Companion of LIPA by Sir Paul McCartney. I am included in the Music Week Women in Music Roll of Honour and the BBC Radio 4 Woman’s Hour Music Powerlist.
